Setup: As Venus makes her moves, we practice the art of being profoundly held. Today we find our sacred sit spot – a place that will become an altar, teacher, and sanctuary in one.
Be mindful of your layers and err on the side of warmth. I suggest a blanket or towel if the ground is damp or chilly.
This isn’t about finding the perfect spot – it’s about letting yourself be found by a place that wants to know you, to hold you, to teach you about deep listening and pure presence.
The eyes will be invited to close, so the focus may be less on the visual than the SENSE that THIS is the spot for today!
Engagement:
- Begin by walking slowly through your chosen territory. This might be:
- Your backyard in morning light
- A hidden corner of a park
- A patch of urban wilderness
- Anywhere nature calls to your wild
- Let your body lead you. Notice:
- Where your feet want to pause
- What makes your breath deepen
- Where you feel most held
- What spot keeps drawing you back
- When you find your place (or it finds you), settle in slowly:
- Feel how earth rises to meet you
- Let your body become heavy, supported
- Notice how your bones want to arrange themselves
- Find the perfect angle for receiving
- Now, begin your sensory exploration:
- Set a timer for at least 5 minutes (ideally 15)
- Close your eyes and listen for at least 3 distinct bird languages, the wind, the hum of nearby traffic, other notes
- Find 2 new scents you’ve never noticed
- Let your skin read the air’s story, the sun’s embrace
- Feel the exact temperature where you meet earth
Integration: What did you learn about being held? How has this place changed you? What wants to continue this conversation?
